Classification: Non-exempt JOB DESCRIPTION: Associate News Producer · Responsible for assisting producer with writing and other tasks related to assigned newscasts. · Assist with the execution of breaking news. · Ensure all productions comply with company and station policies and quality and technical standards. · Responsible for ensuring newscast complies with legal requirements concerning libel, slander and First Amendment laws. · Operation of all video and editing equipment. · Determine and effectively communicate to production staff, technical staff and talent all production requirements for projects. · Meet all assigned production deadlines. · Work irregular/odd hours, and available to work weekends and holidays. · Work as team with production staff, technical staff, talent, clients, and other departments on developing and completing production projects. · Additional responsibilities as assigned by news management. Assignment Editor · Assigning reporters and photographers to the coverage of spot news, scheduled events and enterprise reporting. · Staff assignment desk at the discretion of assignment manager.
